The Archives Room at the Athol Public Library is a great place to do genealogical research.

There is a great deal of material to research in our Archives.
Athol Transcript / Athol Daily News on microfilm from 1871 to current. 
Readers are available in the Archives room and the adult area of the library.
 

The contents of the library include the following:

Vital Records through the year 1849.  Hardbound volumes containing the births, marriages and deaths.  More than 174 towns in Massachusetts are included in this collection.    Another 18 towns are contained on Microfiche that may be looked at downstairs in the archives room on the reader/printer.
