Compact fluorescent bulbs use only 20-30% as much electricity as standard bulbs and they last 10 times longer. If every American replaced just one old bulb in their homes with a CFL bulb, the nation would spend $600 million less in a year on energy and we’d eliminate the equivalent of the emissions of 800,00 cars!
