On Friday, May 27, come to the Millers River Park (behind the Athol Public Library) for a presentation on tree pruning and organic lawn and garden care.

Travis Knechtel, Athol’s tree warden, will talk about organic care for lawns and gardens, with an emphasis on soils and soil amendments.

Melissa LeVangie, arborist for the town of Petersham, will lead a tree pruning demonstration.  Attendees will receive hands-on instruction and an opportunity to practice with the trees in the Millers River Park.  (All tools provided.)

As part of this event, Melissa and Travis will present “Ask the Arborist;”  Participants are encouraged to bring questions and they will share their expertise.

Free tree seedlings will be given to attendees while supplies last.  Light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Athol Public Library.
