A map display on exhibit at the APL through September 6.

The Athol Public Library is the site of a unique display of map information titled “Captivating Cartography” provided by the Commonwealth Museum of Boston and William F. Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth.  Replicas of maps of the world with enlightening explanations of the illustrations which include sea monsters, mythical and religious symbols, and explorers of the time, techniques, languages, and colors found on the maps are upstairs in the Carnegie section of the library with old maps of the Athol area on display in a glass case, also.  The exhibit will be available for viewing until September 6.

Pictured studying one of the exhibit panels are Luis Offerrall and Nancy Burnham.
