Dear PC Doctor:
One of the recent Windows updates added some new items at the bottom right hand side of the home screen on my computer. I hate distractions and would rather have fewer things in my line of sight when I work. I especially don’t need the weather icon, as I look out the window or step outside when I want to know if it’s raining. Can I get rid of it?
Thank you,
Clear View
Dear Clear View:
This Microsoft widget started appearing in late April of this year. It shows weather information directly in the Windows taskbar and expands to include a feed of news, stocks, and sports. If you don’t want to see it, you can follow these steps to remove it from view: First, right-click anywhere on the taskbar. You will see the words News and Interests. Click there. You’ll see three options: Show icon and text, Show icon only, and Turn off. Select Turn off. Voila! It’s gone.
I hope this helps!
Until next time,
Happy computing!
