Vote Now for the April Booked for Lunch Title
April’s theme is "Books set in Ukraine"
The situation in Ukraine is the lead story on every news broadcast and the headline of every newspaper. This month we'll be reading and discussing one of these four novels set (primarily) in Ukraine. While these are all works of fiction, whatever we choose will offer us a story beyond those currently in the news. Please note, the intention of this theme is not political as much as being a way to learn about the people and their country as told through the lens of a novel.
There are many books set in Ukraine, both fiction and non-fiction. Our library system has several that were on the "big list" (I used this website as one of my resources - https://tinyurl.com/4v8ruvbc ). Unfortunately, there were few that had enough copies for a group to read, and large print was even harder to find - but we did it.
