Bright Star Children's Theater to Perform

Looking for something to entertain the kids during school vacation week? Bright Star Children’s Theatre is coming back to the Athol Town Hall on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 11:00 am with a public performance of their fun, interactive show, Gus Goes Green: Earth Day Edition. This free, all ages event is made possible by a collaboration between the Athol Cultural Council and the Athol Public Library.

In Gus Goes Green: Earth Day Edition, Gus, a giant dog puppet, leads the audience on a STEM-inspired adventure around the globe. He uses clever resources to find creative solutions for a thirsty man in the desert, a wacky inventor, a toy maker, and one very funny bug. Audience volunteers join Gus on stage to engineer a device for gathering water, build a unique toy from recycled materials, and more! By the end of the play, Gus and his friends use Science, Technology, Engineering and Math to find smart solutions to real-life issues. This show, best appreciated by audiences in grades Pre-K and higher, is designed to encourage young people to help the Earth through recycling, energy conservation, and creative thinking.

Registration is encouraged, but not required. Please visit athol.librarycalendar.com or call the library at 978-249-9515 to reserve your seats. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Athol Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
