STEM Play: Dino Tar Pit
Wednesday, November 13 from 3:00-4:00.
Ages 8-11
Registration Required
Part science education, part playtime, in this program we will make a sticky slime to mimic tar pits! Tar pits are naturally occurring pools where crude oil has oozed to the surface and partially evaporated to leave behind sticky, sludgy pits of tar. Many lifeforms, including dinosaurs, have gotten stuck in tar pits, leaving behind amazing fossils.
After watching a short video about tar pits, we will make our own tar slime and spend the rest of the program playing with it with small toy dinosaurs.
This program could get messy, so please don't wear your best clothes!
