Sherlock Holmes with Barry Deitz: A Lecture and Slide Presentation!

Join the Athol Public Library at 568 Main Street, Athol, on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., when we welcome Barry Deitz for his slide presentation Sherlock Holmes.
Come learn about the world’s most famous literary detective. This program looks at the life and times of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and tells the story of his creation of the great Sherlock Holmes. It will also highlight the history of this fascinating character, looking at how over the past 130 years different writers, actors and directors have imagined the great detective.
Are you a fan of the original stories?; of the films with Basil Rathbone?; the latest television incarnations of the famous detective? Be sure to attend this talk and slide presentation to learn more about Sherlock Holmes.
Barry Deitz is from North Carolina and moved to Massachusetts about six years ago. He has worked for many bookstores and libraries and has presented over one hundred programs ranging from poetry of World War I to the life and times of Lewis Carroll. He has traveled across the country working on a documentary film about Bigfoot and he has presented programs this past year on Sherlock Holmes, writers in love, and Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Deitz’s programs have been popular at many libraries around Massachusetts.
