Volunteer Information and News
The library is currently seeking volunteers for the adopt-a-shelf program. Interested people may call the library at 249-9515 or stop in to sign up. Volunteers come to the library
as often as they wish; once a week or once a month to organize the shelves. Time commitment is flexible.Stop in today

The Athol Public Library is happy to accepts donations under the following conditions.
All books and materials must be in usable condition, clean, with no wear and tear or mildew.
No textbooks, magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, or Readers Digest condensed books due to our crowded conditions and the cost to dispose of them.
Once donated, the materials become the property of the library. They may be added to the collection according to the Library's Collection Development Policy or they may be placed in the Friends of the Library book sale to earn money for Library programs.
The Library reserves the right to refuse any materials.
The Library cannot place a value on donated materials for tax or any other purposes, although we can give a receipt for the number of items donated.
MEMORIAL DONATIONS
Fax service is available at the Library.
The charge is $1.00 per page. Proceeds go to the Friends of the Library.
The library staff will provide you with a confirmation sheet when fax is sent.
Lacking staff, an effort will be made to fax within 48 hours or the customer will be notified.
The library cannot assume responsibility for ensuring that a fax reaches a particular person or department at the destination.
A notary is available on most shifts of the library on any given day
.The charge is $2.00 for each page notarized. Proceeds go to the fundraising effort for improvements to the library
.The library is equipped with an elevator and handicapped accessible doors near the parking area.
The library makes a video phone available for hearing impaired patrons.
For assistance in obtaining Braille and Talking Books, Perkins Library provides free library services for those who are print-disabled.
The Library hosts a number of special
programs and performances throughout the year with funding from the
FRIENDS of
the Athol Public Library, the Athol Cultural Council, and other sources. These
include book discussion groups, author talks, slide/lecture shows, craft
programs, gardening, how-to lectures, and cultural performances.
