Teen April Vacation Events

Tuesday, April 19 through Friday, April 22

The Athol Public Library has a lineup of exciting programs and activities for teens during April school vacation. Find more details, sign up for programs, and use free digital resources at athollibrary.org/teens.

Black out Poetry
Tuesday, April 19, 3:30 pm

April is National Poetry Month! Celebrate with us as we teach you how to create black out poetry using markers and recycled books. This program is perfect for teen writers and artists of all skill levels.

No registration required. Ages 11 - 18

Family Trivia
Wednesday, April 20, 4:00 pm

Compete against other families answering trivia questions about books, history, science, pop culture, and more! The winning team will win a movie night bundle complete with popcorn, candy, and RedBox codes.

We will be using the platform Kahoot, which requires you to have a smartphone or other device that can connect to the internet so you may answer the questions. Each family only needs one device to compete.

Teams can be no more than five people. If you have a larger family, please divide into groups of five or less. If you have less than five people, you can invite friends to fill out your team. Each team must include at least one child or teen. Teen siblings are welcome to compete without an adult.

Registration Required. Open to families and teens.

Wii Gaming: Mariokart
Thursday, April 21, 3:30 pm

Join us in the Teen Space to play the competitive classic racing game Mariokart on the Wii. Play as your favorite Mario franchise characters as you race against other players on dynamic courses.

No registration required. Ages 11 - 18.

Upcycled T-Shirt Bags
Friday, April 22, 3:30 pm

Join us on Earth Day to learn how to turn your old t-shirts into a cloth reusable bag. No sewing required! This is the perfect opportunity to give new life to a barely worn or well loved (but not wearable) shirt.

Participants are asked to bring their own shirt to use for this craft. Having a hard time getting a hold of a shirt? Let a library staff member know and we will see what we can do to help.

No registration required. Ages 11 - 18
