The importance of forest management, logging, and intentional diversity is being presented by Derek Beard, forester with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).

This is a topic of current interest and discussion, especially with respect to the public Quabbin Reservoir Watershed and its forest management. The goal of public water supply management is maintaining forest that protects high quality drinking water for current and future users.

In Memory of Jim Harrington of Petersham, a logger, proud veteran, avid reader, and mentor to many. Jim was killed in a logging accident in November 2024.
