Read the book! Meet the Author!
Shane Burcaw, who has been living with spinal muscular atrophy, has written two books: one, Not So Different, a picture book for young readers, and the other, Laughing at My Nightmare, a fresh and frank memoir for teens and adults. The Athol Public Library is pleased to have scheduled two virtual author visits (over Skype) so we can chat with Shane!
Teens and adults who have read Shane's memoir are invited to attend on Thursday, July 26 at 6:30.
Families that have read Shane's picture book are invited to visit with the author on July 31 at 11:00.
Please visit the library to get the full scoop - We're also raising money for Shane's foundation, Laughing at my Nightmare, which offers grants to help people acquire essential equipment. Ask for details at the Children's Desk!
Stop by the library to pick up your copy of the book!
Call 978-249-9515 to sign up for a visit with Shane. Please let us know which session you want to attend. Registration is required so that we will know how much of Shane’s favorite food – pizza! - to order.
Funding generously provided by the Friends of the Athol Public Library. Free and open to the public.
