Libby Read-alongs!

Looking for more story times for your young reader?

Try Libby Read-alongs! What is a Read-along ebook and how does it work?
Some ebooks in our library's digital collection are labeled "Read-along." This means that the format for those ebooks has professionally recorded narration that plays along while you read. You can find them in Libby!

The free Libby app is a great way to grow independent readers by engaging them with age appropriate books, audiobooks, and read-alongs.

The read-along format is fantastic for emerging readers ages 4+. Read-alongs tell stories through pictures, words, and sounds. This format reaches children with a variety of learning styles and helps kids make the connection that the words on the page tell the story.

You can select and load up to 10 titles at a time. You may need to assist children with opening the book and beginning the narration. Once the story begins to play the words on the screen will be highlighted as they are read and the pages will automatically turn. You may encourage the child to follow along with their finger. The narrator’s speech can be slowed or sped up.

To find the read-along collection in the Libby app, tap CWMARS, tap Explore, tap Kids, and scroll down to Read Along. Alternatively, type Read Along in the box at the top of your screen, next to the magnifying glass icon.
